First pin-up shoot! This was shot at an abandoned paper mill on the south shore of Montreal (city of Beauharnois). It was cold and very damp inside, but boy did we get awesome photos!

Wow, really?

I thought posting a casting call on ModelMayhem for my new pin-up project was a good idea. I even put ‘Negotiable’ as payment, because yes, I’m open to pay for the right talents. Unfortunately, it makes people entitled and think I’ll hire them even though they are, I’m sorry to say, TERRIBLE.

I’m not talking about MUAs… But photographers. I mean, I don’t mind paying MUAs, their resources aren’t infinite, they need to buy new stuff all the time. Same for hair stylists.

I know photography equipment is expensive. Everyone wants to get paid. But man… This is truly sad. I know it’s only MM, but still. The really good amazing photographers never read casting calls I guess.

Whatever. I started my burlesque striptease classes yesterday, and it was so much fun! Also, Miss Oui Oui Encore, our teacher, told me about some great pin-up photographers, one of them being Marina Vintage Style. Now, we’re talking! I have sent her an email inquiring for her rates. What’s great is that she can provide clothing, hair and make-up for the photoshoot.

I’ll post more about these burlesque classes soon!

I want glasses like these. I absolutely love the 1950s cat’s eye look.

Whoa. I’m back. Sort of.

I haven’t shot much in the past couple of months. Honestly, I don’t have a lot of time for that. And I’m getting a little bit bored with the nude and fetish work I do. I’m not sure why… It’s weird. I have been modeling for almost 4 years now, and for some assignments, I don’t get as excited anymore.

So I am thinking of doing more pin-up type of work. I know I’m not perfect for that, side I have tattoos, short hair, piercings… I’m currently building a vintage lingerie wardrobe, after finding this awesome vintage place on St-Laurent Street (in Montreal). Since I know I’m pretty much never going to make bank with my modeling, even naked, why bother with stuff I don’t enjoy as much now?

I will still shoot with the people I’ve worked with multiple times in the past. Mainly because these people have become good friends of mine, and I really enjoy working with them. So to any of you reading this, you know who you are, and you don’t have to worry. :) I just don’t think I want to do much erotic work anymore. Maybe it’s me getting older. I don’t know. I feel I’m not entirely comfortable with it as I used to be.

I am starting burlesque striptease classes next week, and I am very excited about it. This is part of what makes me want to pursue pin-up. Truth is, I’ve always had a fetish for vintage lingerie and everything burlesque, but it’s hitting me now that I want to explore that world. I’m not going to make bank off this either, but it looks like lots of fun, so why not?

There’s also another reason as to why I want to do that type of work.

I shot with Danny Portieous a couple weeks ago, and this is some of the result. My fiance and friends have been commenting on how much I looked like a 1940s actress, and it got me thinking… Why not give it a shot, you know?

I need to start working with more MUAs though. But that’s a detail. We’ll see how that goes.
