Finally…an update!

I am terribly sorry I haven’t been updating this blog much lately. Been caught up with wedding stuffs and it was overwhelming. With only 3 months to go, I sometimes wonder if I won’t forget anything. *nervous* The invites have been sent and people are slowly RSVP’ing. A month to get back to us confirming their presence is enough, right?

Anyhow, last Saturday I did my second burlesque performance at Cafe Campus, with 5 other wonderful women. I had a blast, once again. Our teacher/instructor, Mlle Oui Oui Encore asked us if we would like to join the Blue Light Burlesque troop for the next season. No need to tell you that we all were squealing in happiness! So there you have it, loves. Our next performance as a group should be in October or November.

Performing at such a great venue for BLB is quite the honour. I find myself incredibly lucky to have been given this opportunity. I’m actually glad I’m with a group so that way, I can build my confidence on stage so I can be better when I try to go solo. Performing as a group is lots of fun anyway.

Stay tuned for some new modeling photos! :)

Artsy Fartsy

Oh my god you guys, I can’t tell you how excited I am to be performing on stage for a burlesque show this Saturday… I’m already starting to get stomach aches from the nervousness.

Artistic expression is truly the best therapy there is. It started with modeling, 4 years ago. I’ve always been curious about burlesque and the art of it, and back in February, I started burlesque striptease classes with the amazing Mlle Oui Oui Encore. She has been such an amazing inspiration for me. I always thought I’d look silly trying to look sexy, but with these classes taught by her, it made me a lot more confident with my body, and more daring to try new things. I must say that it pays off, since my fiance is loving my creativity. :)

I recently started painting, another thing I’ve been meaning to do for years. I’m still very much of a newbie, but I’m learning, slowly but surely. I will eventually take classes, but I don’t feel the need for that just now. It’s an amazing outlet for my anxiety and depression.

Had a little fun retouching a photo with Pixlr-O-Matic. :)

Wow, really?

I thought posting a casting call on ModelMayhem for my new pin-up project was a good idea. I even put ‘Negotiable’ as payment, because yes, I’m open to pay for the right talents. Unfortunately, it makes people entitled and think I’ll hire them even though they are, I’m sorry to say, TERRIBLE.

I’m not talking about MUAs… But photographers. I mean, I don’t mind paying MUAs, their resources aren’t infinite, they need to buy new stuff all the time. Same for hair stylists.

I know photography equipment is expensive. Everyone wants to get paid. But man… This is truly sad. I know it’s only MM, but still. The really good amazing photographers never read casting calls I guess.

Whatever. I started my burlesque striptease classes yesterday, and it was so much fun! Also, Miss Oui Oui Encore, our teacher, told me about some great pin-up photographers, one of them being Marina Vintage Style. Now, we’re talking! I have sent her an email inquiring for her rates. What’s great is that she can provide clothing, hair and make-up for the photoshoot.

I’ll post more about these burlesque classes soon!
